She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Yarger and Cleva Yarger (Walters); her husband Larry J. McDonald; her sisters, Carole Robreau and Janet Jones; and her son-in-law Jim Backstrom.
She is survived by: her children, Kelly Backstrom, Jeff McDonald (Errin) and David McDonald (Lynn); her grandchildren, Ashley Medina (Billy), Sean Miller, Ian McDonald, Kylee Williams (Chase), Jakob Costello (Parker) and Austin McDonald (Natalie); her stepgrandchildren, Jeremy Backstrom (Brooke), Airel Navarette (Jonathan) and Alyssa Worsham (Elliott); her great grandchildren, Kyra, Luke and Vivienne; her stepgreat-grandchildren, E. J. and Elle; her great great grandchild Enzo; and her brother-in-law Bob McDonald (Barbara). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory (5005 Frederick Ave, Suite A, St Joseph, MO 64506). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church, Platte City, Missouri.
