With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Betty Cooksey of Saint Joseph, Missouri, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Betty left this world on February 16, 2026 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold D. Dougan and Thelma Dougan (Tompkins); her husband Gerald Dale Cooksey; and her sisters, Etta Mae and Kerlin Langley.
She is survived by: her children, Janet Lofton (Lamont), Darrell Cooksey (Gemma), David Cooksey (Patti) and Jean Shaw; and her sisters, Susie Straugh and Ruth Bailey. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Lions Club.
