Carroll E. Cathey Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carroll E. Cathey (Saint Joseph, Missouri), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 15, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brothers, John and Robert; and his pets, Harry and Willie. He is survived by: his wife Pat; his pet Oliver; his siblings, Richard (Alice), Raymond and Diana; his children, Matthew (Cheryl), Janet (Steve) and Mervi; his son-in-law Chris; and his daughter Julie (Stephen). He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of extended family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory (5005 Frederick Ave Suite A, St Joseph, MO 64506). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Abundant Life Center Community of Christ Church (5130 Faraon St, St Joseph, MO 64506).
Unfortunately, Carroll was unable to donate his organs but he is donating his pacemaker to prolong the life of a canine through the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. In lieu of flowers, Carroll requested donations to the St. Joseph Animal Shelter or the Performing Arts Association, both of St. Joseph, Missouri.
