He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. Mercer and LaVella Mercer (Johnson); his former wife Alice McNames; his wife Nancy Miller; his children, Vickie Minhas (Muhammud), Charles R. "Bobby" Mercer, Jr., Ruth Ann Tull and Deanna Hartquist; his siblings, Shirley Wells, James F. "Jim" Mercer and Donna Burns; his stepchildren, Terry and Danny Fitzpatrick; and his grandson Shaun Cash. He is also survived by numerous stepchildren and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home (208 N 5th St, Atchison, KS 66002). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
