He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Hurlbut and Mattie Hurlbut; and his brother Jim. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Darlene Pittman; his daughters, Stacy Jenkins (Dennis) and Tracy Hurlbutt (Ryan) of Olathe, KS.; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jenkins of Des Moines, IA, Joshua and Jessica Hurlbutt of Olathe, KS.; his sister-in-law Janet Hurlbut of Clark, SD; his nephew Rodney Hurlbut (Mary) of Raymond, SD; and his niece Tami Pfleger (Lowell) of Rapid City, SD. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory (5005 Frederick Ave Suite A, St Joseph, MO 64506). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Angus Association's Foundation to the Dean Hurlbut Memorial Scholarship Fund, 3201 Frederick Ave., St. Joseph, MO 64506 or to the Noyes Home for Children, 801 Noyes Blvd., St. Joseph, MO 64506.
