With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary McKeown of Saint Joseph, Missouri, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on August 12, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick McKeown and Evelyn McKeown (Harkins). He is survived by: his wife Jo; his children, Susan Carlisle (Dave) of St. Joseph, Stephanie Carter (Barry) of Omaha, Shawna Modlin (Jay) of Kansas City, Tricia George (Chris Duke) of St. Joseph, Ryan McKeown (Rhonda) of Wichita Falls and Heather Schultz (Jordan) of Auburn, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Andrew, Jordan Carlisle, Jacob Carter (Cassidy), Megan Hough (Trevor), Kate, Holly Modlin, Carson, Stefan Loewe, Berkley George, Olivia, Alex, Bella Duke, Selena, DeVonte Perez, Davion Douglas-Beggs, Taylor and Mason Schultz; and his sister Sondra Short (Jackson) of Warrensburg, Missouri. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Mosaic Life Care Hospice or the Open Door Food Kitchen.
