George Francis Hanway Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Francis Hanway of Saint Joseph, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 15, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Hanway (Hart) and Charles Hanway; his wife Darlene Hanway; his sons, Kenneth and Steve Billings; and his siblings-in-law, Teresa Hanway and Mark Dunbar.
He is survived by: his children, Darren Billings (Cathy) of Savannah, MO, Lorna Foster (Anthony) of St. Joseph, Dayna Hanway and Dynese Hanway of Chicago, IL; and his siblings, Kathleen Lee (Ron) of Savannah, MO, Joe Hanway of St. Joseph, Virginia Dunbar of St. Joseph, Louis Hanway (Judy) of St. Joseph, Barbara Fimple (Mike) of St. Joseph and Rose Schuerkamp (David) of Gallatin, MO. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 5:30 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home (6054 Pryor Ave, St Joseph, MO 64504). Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are requested to the St. James Catholic Church.
