We announce the death of Horace Symes Jr. of Saint Joseph, Missouri, who passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 93. Horace will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Horace will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Horace’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Symes of Wells River and Eva Roy of Quebec, Canada.. He is survived by: his wife Mabel Stirn of Queens; his sons, Steve, Greg (Anne) and Ron (Christine); his grandchildren, Stuart, Eleanor (Sam), Abigail (Sean) and Alexandra; and his great grandchildren, Hayes and Millie.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Wells River Congregational Church (76 Main St N, Wells River, VT 05081).
