He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. "Bill" Hontz and Fern Hontz (Cross); and his brother Bill Matlock. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Nelson; his children, Craig Hontz (April) of Kansas City, Missouri and Kristina Hontz of St. Joseph; his siblings, Tim Hontz of Wathena, Kansas, John Hontz of Wathena, Kansas and Jenny Hontz of Wathena, Kansas; and his brothers-in-law, Don Evans and Jeff Evans. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the AFL-CIO Community Services Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program or the American Cancer Society.
