With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James E. Bonkoski of Saint Joseph, Missouri, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. James left this world on July 19, 2025 at the age of 86, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Clarissa (Chaney) and Andrew Martin Bonkoski; his daughter Jamie Bonkoski; and his sister Mary Salyer. He is survived by: his wife Shirley (Price); his children, Rhonda Doolan (Patrick) of Leawood, Gary Bonkoski (Mary) of Keytesville, Diana King of St. Joseph and Jeffery Bonkoski (Angela) of St. Joseph, Missouri; his grandchildren, Ryan Doolan, Connor Doolan, Jacob Bonkoski, Jamie Fidler (Ben), Carlee Bonkoski, Caitlin Fresquez (Felix), Kayleigh Lutz, Father Alex Kreidler, Reilly King, Mary Katherine King, Murphy King, Jeffrey Bonkoski, Clara Bonkoski and Ella Bonkoski; and his sister Elizabeth Schurr. He is also survived by 4 great- grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (4503 Frederick Ave, St Joseph, MO 64506). A rosary will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at the Mount Olivet Cemetery (2600 Lovers Ln, St Joseph, MO 64506).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Head for the Cure.
