He was predeceased by: his parents, Bobbie Elder and Robert Elder; his daughter Amanda Elder; and his sisters, Darla Bailey and Vonda Elder.

He is survived by: his wife Jan Elder; his daughter Tyan Elder; his grandchildren, Ethan Elder and Shelby Lee; his great grandchild Shannon Ladish; and his siblings, Regina Elder and Shawn Elder of St. Joseph.
