She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James Benjamin and Jessie Genevra Carpenter (King); her husband James Albert Babb; her brother Walter Leon Carpenter; and her daughters, Linda Strickland (late Pete), Marilyn Poole (Eddie), Donna Johnson (Hugh) and Debbie Blakely (Gary). She was also cherished by 12 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
