He was predeceased by: his grandfather Harold Merritt; and his aunt Tina Tracy. He is survived by: his spouse Acacia Shifflett; his parents, Melinda Robinson (Tim) and Sammy Hoover II (Acacia Stevenson); his children, Kaydon Stevenson, Isabella Stevenson, Jace Stevenson and Ava Stevenson; his stepdaughter La'Niya Shifflett; his siblings, Alex Hoover, Brittany Hoover, Casey Hoover and Tom Sutton; and his grandparents, Sam, Dixie Hoover and Barbara Merritt of St. Joseph. He is also survived by 2 uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
