He was predeceased by: his parents, David Gallagher and Helen Gallagher (Curry); his son Mark Gallagher; his former wives, Bernie Herbert Gallagher and Shirley Lawson Gallagher; and his stepson Philip Lindensmith.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean; his daughters, Susie Kovac (Mark) of Platte City, MO and Julie Gallagher; his brothers, David Gallagher of California and Mike Gallagher of Kansas City; his stepchildren, Kristi of St. Joseph, Greg Nikes of St. Joseph, Jeff of St. Joseph, Roxanne Lawson of St. Joseph, Lisa of St. Joseph, Danny Gawatz of St. Joseph and Gaytha Lindensmith of Virginia; and his grandchildren, Dan Gallagher, Jared Gallagher, Adam VanVolkenburgh, Blair Nikes, Kara Langton, Tim Gawatz, Megan Burrell, Brooke Cortez, Camy, Stephen, David, Philip Lindensmith, Laura Schliesske and Rebecca Poulsen. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
