He is survived by: his mother Ruth Virginia (Jager) of Topeka, KS; his wife Marilyn Hochard; his children, Lisa Hill (Stephen) of Olathe, KS, Kelly Howard (Craig) of Adel, IA, Joseph "Joe" Hochard of Saint Joseph, MO and Michael Hochard (Miranda) of Shawnee, KS; his siblings, Ron Hochard of Topeka, KS and Charlene Yerion (Mike) of O'Fallon, MO; his grandchildren, Hannah Smith (Zach), Nicholas (Holly), Benjamin Lukinac, David, Jesse Ruth Howard, Nelse and Walter Hochard; and his great grandchild Brecklyn.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home (6054 Pryor Ave, St Joseph, MO 64504). A rosary was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 7:15 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (4503 Frederick Ave, St Joseph, MO 64506). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 11:45 AM at the Mount Olivet Cemetery (2600 Lovers Ln, St Joseph, MO 64506).
