With sadness, we share the passing of John Lewis Cox of Saint Joseph, Missouri. John, born on August 4, 1938, passed away on October 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Angela Rita (Becher) and Roy Benjamin Cox; his wife Shirley Anne Miller Cox; and his daughter Jenifer Lee Cox Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Shelly Cox, Sue Dalsing (Steve) and John "Clay" Cox (Lisa); his brother Roy "Buck" Benjamin Cox; his sister-in-law Sue Miller Cox; his grandchildren, Lynn Dalsing, Alexandra Dalsing, Kent Johnson, Kate JohnsonHarding, Kyle Johnson, Jaida Cox and Jenna Cox; and his great grandchildren, Ayven and Atler Hardin.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 5:15 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home (6054 Pryor Ave, St Joseph, MO 64504). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (5810 King Hill Dr, St Joseph, MO 64504). The inurnment will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Sugar Creek Christian Church.
