She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Buerge and Alma Buerge (Hansche); her former husband Gerald Melkowski; her husband Jerry Meeks; and her close friend Dan Chilcoat.
She is survived by: her children, Anthony Melkowski (Midge), Antonette Helm, Celeste Barrett (Bob), Jennifer Morris (Robert), Damian Melkowski (Michele) and Robin Burton (Mike); and her cousins, Norma Foster and Rosemary Slater. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Freudenthal Hospice.
