He was predeceased by: his parents, Catalino Holguin-Bayyes and Virginia Perez. He is survived by: his close friend Mary Ramos; his children, Juan and Rocio; his stepchildren, Tasha, Dennis, Fernando, Robert and Patricia; and his siblings, Martin, Guadalupe, Maria and Margarita. He is also survived by three grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
