He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" Major and Frances Major (Matthews). He is survived by: his children, Dawn Hendrickson (Brian), Rebecca Empie (Doug) and Brian Major (Tammy); and his stepchildren, Angie Ward, Tyler Ward and Cherish Sansonetti. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; beloved cousins; other relatives and friends.
