He was predeceased by: his parents, Palmer Akre and Ethel Akre (Iverson); his daughters, Tammy Rice and Tiffany Ballard; his grandson Collin Bettis; his brothers-in-law, Jim Crawford and Darris Kompelien; his stepson-in-law Tim Fruin; and his stepdaughter Lori Fruin.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Brian Akre (Ruth) of Hillman, MN. and Vicki Mosher (Sean) of Blaine, MN.; his stepchildren, Jeff Lewis (Vicky), Todd Lewis (Candy) of Andover, MN. and Nona Wallert (Mark) of LaPorte, MN.; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Kompelien and Rube Kompelien (Michelle). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren 8 step grandchildren & 28 great grandchildren.
