She was predeceased by: her siblings, Theo, Cleo, Earl, Francis, Walter Derks and Athea Derks Kerns; her stepsons, Lynn (Sharon), Von (Jane) and Wayne Wells (Dorothy); her stepgrandson Craig Wells; and her niece Cecila Derks.
She is survived by: her husband Chester M. Wells; her grandchildren, Dustin (Shyann), Doren (Rachel), Daman, Kyle Wells, Kortni Wells Eppersen (Logan), Beth Farrier Bell (Bret), Brian Wells, Bridget Wells Jobes (Brian), Brent Wells (Maggie) and Jesse Wells; and her great grandchildren, Kole, Karli Wells, Brilynn, Jase Wells, Brody, Briggs Wells, Kate Jobes, Harrison, Addie Wells, Haley, Cameron Bell, Knox, Porter and Ayla Epperson. She is also survived by children and spouses.
A rosary was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 6:00 PM and on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel (3609 Frederick Ave, St Joseph, MO 64506). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph (519 N 10th St, St Joseph, MO 64501).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions would be appreciated to Food Pantry, or Altar Society at Cathedral, or Charity of the Donor's choice.
