He was predeceased by: his wife Dixie Marie Wolford; and his sons, David and Mike. He is survived by: his son Ed; his daughters-in-law, Sherry Murphy of St. Joseph and Debbie Murphy of Cape Coral, Florida; and his grandchildren, Sarah Arnold, Kyle Murphy, Melissa Murphy, Matt Murphy, Ryan Murphy, Gabriel Murphy and Megan Murphy-Fehling. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The Gideons International.
