He was predeceased by: his mother Hazel Simpson; his wife Delores Ann Weese; his siblings, Oscar Earl Simpson, Jr., Maxine Caudel, Wilma Moore Laverentz, Helen Baxter, Mary Simpson and Hazel Joan Sisk Gaither; and his son-in-law Donald Phillippe.
He is survived by: his father Oscar; his children, Pamela Phillippe, Douglas Simpson (Anita) and David Simpson (Darla); his grandchildren, Brian Phillippe (Beth), Laura Pike (Aaron), Allie Simpson (Ben Ramirez), Aaron Simpson (Abby) and Benton Simpson; his great grandchildren, Jessica Phillippe, Benton Lee Simpson, Braxtyn Simpson, Chance Pike, Justin Pike, Aiden Pike and Chance Angold; and his great great grandchildren, Lily, Sawyer Pease, Arrayah and Phoenix Angold.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory (5005 Frederick Ave, Suite A, St Joseph, MO 64506). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Wyatt Park Christian Church or Scouting of America.
