We announce the death of Shirley Irene Simpson of Saint Joseph, Missouri, who passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 94. Shirley will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, William M. Myers and Eva I. Myers (Allison); her husband Forrest James Simpson (Jim); her daughter Debra Deann; her siblings, William A. Myers (Bud), Ruth Dandlicker and Betty Harris; her daughter-in-law Cathy Simpson; and her grandson Matthew Simpson.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmie W. Simpson and Patricia Cooksey (David); her grandchildren, Mindi Richardson (Aaron), Erin Greever (Jesse), Allison Fuemmeler (Nick) and Andrew Cooksey; her great grandchildren, Dylen Propes (Carrington), Haydn, Lilly Richardson, Collin, Ryden Anderson, Ellie, Opal and Charlotte Greever; and her great great grandchildren, Steelman and Seaver Propes. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
