Stephen Rae Johnson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Stephen Rae Johnson of Saint Joseph, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 25, 2025 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Johnson and Roy Johnson; his son Elijah Johnson; his siblings, Connie Brushwood, Roy "Buster" Johnson, Jr., Norman "Woody" Johnson, Karen Joann Johnson, Virna "Kathy" Libby and Eddie Johnson; and his father-in-law Kenneth Bumphrey.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Johnson; his children, Drew Johnson (Diane) of Princeton, MO, Brittany Ellis (Gary) of Mound City, MO and Ian Johnson of St. Joseph; his siblings, Judy Hardin of St. Joseph, Vickie Heavilin of Savannah, MO, Terry Johnson (Diane) of St. Joseph and Timothy Johnson of St. Joseph; his mother-in-law Marsha Bumphrey of St. Joseph; his siblings-in-law, Jennifer Bumphrey of St. Joseph and Kenneth Bumphrey Jr. of St. Joseph; and his grandchildren, Alex, Na'Zyla, Leon, Davina, Breanna, Rylee, Brendon, Dallas and Marissa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home (6054 Pryor Ave, St Joseph, MO 64504). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
