It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velda J. Berning (Saint Joseph, Missouri), born in Cosby, Missouri, who passed away on June 30, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Schneider and Esther Schneider. She is survived by: her siblings, Glen Schneider, Doris Sander and Harold Schneider; her husband Charles Berning; her children, Keith E. Berning (Debra) of Jenera, OH, Joylene "Joy" J. Price (Dennis) of Bonner Springs, KS and Lynn C. Berning (Sherri) of Rochester, MN.; her grandchildren, Anthony Berning, Jessica Berning-Hill (Dalton), Crystina Cole (Dan), Sondra Price, Spencer Berning and Elise Berning; and her great grandchildren, Evelyn and Eleanor Cole.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to Cosby Zion United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
