He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Mitchell and Charles "Bud" Mitchell; his wife Sharon Kaye Mitchell; his son Kevin Monroe Ebling; his siblings, Charles "Shot" Mitchell, Eugene "Gene" Mitchell and Alberta Mooney; and his grandson Jason Trauernicht.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy A. Merritt of Saint Joseph, MO, Robin Epperson (Jeremy) of Wathena, KS, Patty Mitchell of St. Joseph, MO, William "Bill" Mitchell Jr. of St. Joseph, MO and Steven Mitchell of St. Joseph, MO; and his siblings, Levi Mitchell, Juanita Adkins, Ellen Marie Wells and Susie Dowell. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home (6054 Pryor Ave, St Joseph, MO 64504). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
