He was predeceased by: his sons, Delbert Gordon and Steven Gordon Sr.; and his parents, Benjamin Gordon Sr. and Viola Acres. He is survived by: his children, Gildra Gordon, Veleda Gordon-Turner, Desiree Whitlock, Tyrome Dabney, Lamont, Gloria Jean Dabney, Benita Mori, Cornelius Dabney, Vincent Gordon, Octavia and Michael Waters. He is also survived by 60 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 18 great great- grandchildren, a host nieces, nephews and cousins and close friends.
