She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Phelps and Gerda Johnsen Phelps; her siblings, Julie Glastetter, Pete and David Phelps; her pet Sputnik; and her friends, F. William McCalpin and Connie Wells.
She is survived by: her daughter Chelsie Hellige (Ekkachai Danwanichakul); her former husband Charles Hellige; and her siblings, Dan Phelps, Donna Johnstone and Nancy Underwood.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home (1001 N Mt Auburn Rd, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Betty wished for contributions made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
