He was predeceased by: his children, Nancy and Michael. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Halbrook; and his children, Susan Murphy (Rick), Ethan and Elliott Murphy. He is also survived by dad and "Bobbo" (grandpa) to his family.
Post retirement, he spent his years volunteering at Church of the Magdalen, working at the St. Peter and Paul soup kitchen, and delivering donations to local food banks every Friday morning.
