He was predeceased by: his brother Denzil Matthews (Shirley); and his parents, Dan Matthews and Iva Matthews. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Matthews; his children, Karen Hahn (late Tom), Cheryle Frenzel (Clay), Danny Matthews (Jeannie) and Debbie Mathews; his stepchildren, Sheila Lovelady (Randy), Beverly Willis (Don), Theresa Beck and Diana Erhard (Steve); and his siblings, Boyd Matthews (late Marlene), Harold Matthews (Wanda), Larry Matthews (Joyce), Helen Carr (late George), Lester and Margie Matthews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM and at 10:30 AM at the Hoffmeister South County Chapel (1515 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Danny's honor are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project.
