He was predeceased by: his parents, Goldie Smith (Isaacs) and Elwin R. Smith; the mother of his children Judy Loeb Smith; and his siblings, Barbara Brack (Reginald) and Charles Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Behan Smith; his children, Howard Smith (Donna Aronoff) of St. Louis and Marcy Cohen (Stephen) of Scottsdale, Arizona; and his grandchildren, Josh Smith, Isaac Smith, Jonathan Edwards and Sydney Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, tributes may be made to Barnes Jewish Foundation, Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry, or a charity of the donor's choice.
