He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin H. Twenhafel and Charlotte C. Twenhafel (Maschhoff); his wife Viola C. Bartling; his brother Allen Twenhafel; his sister-in-law Anita Twenhafel; and his nephew Larry Twenhafel.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Richard (Blain) of Hoyleton, Lori McCartney (Ray) of Huntersville, NC and Doyle Twenhafel (Pam) of Carlyle; his grandchildren, Nicole Johnson (Dane), Shana Richard (Chase Hawkins), Rebecca Goehausen (Chris), Brian Gowdy, Zachary Twenhafel and Jacob Twenhafel; his great grandchildren, Lane Johnson and Harper Hawkins; and his friends, Charlie, Duke, Herman, Joe and Sharon. He is also survived by cousins, nephews, nieces; and many relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School and will be accepted at the church or through Zieren Funeral Home at 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
