He was predeceased by: his parents, Ella Lewis (Hellwege) and Russell Lewis; and his siblings, Vera May, Leon, Russell Jr. and Iola.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Smitt; his daughters, Susan Byington (Jay) and Janice Wiesehan; his grandchildren, Sarah Sugabo (Jordan), Adam Byington, Zachary Byington, Katie Marsh (Jason) and Keaton Wiesehan (Carly); and his great grandchild James Wiesehan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
