He is survived by: his siblings, Herbert, Nadine, Charles, Dorothy and Daniel; his wife Lois; his children, Mark Haertling (Elizabeth), Barbara Schotte (Michael) and Carol Haertling (Craig Carmer); and his grandchildren, Stephanie Haertling, Rebecca Stoneway, Steven Haertling, Christine Grimmer, Catherine Goldenstein, Jonathan Schotte, David Schotte and Samuel Carmer. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church.
