Germaine C. Gatewood Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Germaine C. Gatewood in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Germaine farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Germaine is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Theophil Scherer and Evelyn Scherer (Donnemueller); her former husband Frederic A. Gatewood; her husband Frederick W. Praechter; and her siblings, Francis Scherer and Mercedes Nunnally (Scherer).
She is survived by: her children, Frederic J. (Ric), Janice K. Daprato (Michael) and Christopher J. Gatewood (Marjorie).
A Mass will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Rita's Church (8240 Washington St, St. Louis, MO 63114).
