He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Vincent and Doris Ann Balmer; his significant other Earl Vanhuston; his brothers, Robert and Philip; his niece Rhonda; and his nephew Michael.

He is survived by: his brothers, William Balmer (Shirley), Raymond Balmer (Jean) and Gerald Balmer (Kathy); and his nieces, Belinda, Victoria, Amy and Christine. He is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
