Patricia Burriss Obituary

Patricia "Patti" Lynn Burriss, 71, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home at Sherbrooke Village on July 15, 2026, with her family by her side.

Born on September 18, 1954, in St. Louis, Patti spent most of her life in the city she called home, with the exception of several years in the 1980s when she lived in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Patti earned her Associate's Degree from Forest Park Community College in 2004. Throughout her career, she worked as a carpenter, cocktail server, county clerk, and housekeeper, before retiring in 2017.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures—bird watching, classic films, and jigsaw puzzles. Patti adored her pets and faithfully kept a personal journal for many years, creating a treasured record of her thoughts and experiences. She also enjoyed giving back to her community by delivering meals through Meals on Wheels.

Above all else, Patti was a devoted mother. She worked tirelessly to provide a safe, loving, and stable home for her two sons as a single parent during the 1980s and 1990s. An active volunteer in the Scouting program, she encouraged curiosity, service, and perseverance. She placed a strong emphasis on education, proudly supporting her sons throughout their years at Christian Brothers College High School and Bishop DuBourg High School. Of all her accomplishments, Patti considered raising her sons to be her greatest.

Patti will be remembered for her kind heart, open mind, and the way she welcomed people from all walks of life. She believed that no challenge was too great to overcome and that a little kindness could make a big difference.

She is lovingly survived by her sons, Michael "Mike" Arbeeny and Myles (Michelle) Arbeeny; her cherished granddaughters, Norah and Rosalie Arbeeny; her sisters, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Richard) Favazza and Susan "Susie" Harrod, widow of the late Joel Harrod; her niece, Emily Harrod; her nephews, John (Angie) Favazza and Stephen (Pam) Favazza; and her great-niece, Andrea Favazza.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Burriss and Alice "Pat" Burriss; her brother, John Burriss; and her sister, Jeanne "Chris" Norber, and Chris's husband, Aaron "Rick" Norber.

Patti's family is deeply grateful for the love, support, and compassionate care she received throughout her life and during her final days.

A private celebration of Patti's life will be held by her family.
