Paul Dickey Obituary
FARMINGTON- Paul Eugene "J.D." Dickey, Sr. of Farmington, passed away, Friday January 11, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital at the age of 68 years. He was born August 4, 1944 at Farmington, son of the late Earl Clifford and June Laveta (Clymer) Dickey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Dickey-Sellers and a nephew Keith Johnson.
J.D. proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was self-employed as an auto mechanic and the owner-operator of J.D.'s Automotive in Delassus for over twenty years. He was a member of the Fredericktown Free Will Baptist Church. In his spare time, he and Debbie enjoyed traveling, especially to Memphis.
They followed Dallas Cowboys football and were passionate about NASCAR. He also enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his significant other, Ms. Debbie Horton, sons: Paul E. Dickey, Jr. of San Antonio, TX, Ron Dickey of Charleston, SC; James and wife (Helen) Dickey of Park Hills, Jonathan Dickey of San Antonio, TX, Chad and wife (Lindsey) Horton of Jefferson City, and daughter, Laura and husband, (Rob) Maize; sisters: Earlene and (David) Lietz of Chesapeake, VA; Tina and (Lee) Beason of Farmington, brothers: Terry Dickey of Farmington, and Earl C. Dickey, Jr. and (Susie) of Norfolk, VA, and 15 grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Monday, January 14, 2013. Visitation will resume on Tuesday beginning at 7 a.m. and continue until the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend Chad Horton officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
