She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Demchik and Helen Demchik (Grates); and her husband John Walter Bierhals. She is survived by: her son Dr. Andrew John Bierhals; her daughter-in-law Dr. Maureen Ann Bierhals of St. Louis; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth "Liz" Victoria Bierhals and Sebastian Andrew Bierhals of St. Louis. She is also survived by her family, her resilience, her love of animals.
