With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Marie Szurley (Saint Louis, Missouri), born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, who passed away on May 1, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Ruth Marie may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband Gustave Szurley; and her siblings, Ginny, Fran and George. She is survived by: her daughters, Edith Grabbe (Alexis) of O'Fallon, MO and Irene Laney (Mark) of Larmone, ME; and her grandsons, Patrick Grabbe of Kansas City, Kevin Grabbe of Lake City, AR and Mark Laney of Florida.
