Mary Lang wrote a sympathy message

“Dennis was our bass player in a our very popular 1960s band The Del-Rays. He lived in Shiloh, IL at the time. KXOK's Nick Charles was our manager and we opened for The Beatles at Busch Stadium in 1966 and many other top groups and personalities of the day. We were maybe the one and only white group to ever record at Stax Records in Memphis in 1964. The Del-Rays played weekly at Collinsville Park ballroom to between 600 and a thousand people every Week. Dennis was a rock star!”
