He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Helga Ransford; his parents, Victor Ransford and Verna Ransford; his children, Laurie McPherson and Michael Ransford; his stepchildren, Brenda Weinand (Jim) and Kenny Biddlingmeier (Theresa); and his sister Karen Remone (late Charles).

Memorials may be made in Gary's name to American Cancer Society.
