He is survived by: his brother Robert Merritt (Uncle Bob); his stepsister Stacey Wright; his stepsibling's children, Israel Merritt (Anthea), Hannah Piel (David), Josiah Merritt (Nicole) and Erika Armstrong (Tim); his grandchildren, Taryn, Haili, Dorian, Gaige (Kristen), Brett, Tylor, Grant, Cooper, Ella, Kyra, Finley, Taegan, Beau, Gwen, Brooklynn, Paisley and Freya; his great grandchildren, Kaison, Lydia, Jackson and Lucas; his former wife Janis Poe; his son Steve; and his wife Karen McCarthy.
