He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Kurth and Anna Kurth; his siblings, Marie Woock (Wilbur) and Emil Kurth (Pearl); his wife Phyllis; his daughters, Lee Wagner (Doug), Barb Heimsoth (Jerry) and Kay Ronning (Randy); his grandchildren, Kelsey Schlund (Andrew), Nathan Wagner, John Heimsoth, Kristy Farwell (Ben), Emily Kosmack (Jim), Hannah Obermann (Joshua) and Andrew Ronning (Kirsten); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Margaret Schlund, Mila Farwell, Annie, Calvin, Jolene Kosmack, Rhett and Poppy Obermann.

Memorials may be made to the George and Ruth Steil Endowment Fund for the training of church workers at Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska.
