He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda J. Wipfler; his parents, Josephine Marie and Leonard Francis Wipfler; and his son David A. Wipfler. He is survived by: his children, Frank Wipfler (Barbara), Janice Willis (Mike) and Gina Suttory (Bryan); his grandchildren, Chelsea Wipfler, Zachariah Wipfler, Alexandria Summers (Deion), Bryce Suttory, Ashtyn Suttory, Camdyn Suttory and Brooklynn Suttory; and his great grandchildren, Everett, Ellyson and Colter.

Memorials may be made in William's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
