He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Josephine Kist (Schweiss) and Benjamin Bernard Kist; his son Dan Kist; and his siblings, Norbert Kist, Welton Kist (Rita), Earnest Kist (Irma), Irvin Kist, Cletus Kist, Hildegard Joggerst (Herman), Dottie Eisenbeis (Joe) and Rita Tucker (Pat).
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Kist of Sainte Genevieve, MO; his children, Sharon Taylor (David) of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Melanie Comentino, Charlotte East (Roger) and Christopher Kist (Lisa); his daughter-in-law Janet Kist; his sister Modesta Valle-Weiler (Vince); and his sister-in-law Bernita Kist. He is also survived by Many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.
