We announce the death of Melvin Wayne Phillips of Sainte Genevieve, Missouri, who passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 81. Melvin will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Joseph Phillips and Hester Marie Phillips (Duvall); his grandparents, Everett and Josephine Phillips; his wife Caryl Ann Phillips (Brown); and his brothers, Larry Phillips and Gary Phillips.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tamara Boggs (Ernest "Ernie") and Paula Boland (Jeff); his brother Randy Phillips (Gloria); his grandchildren, Andrew Thompson (Tammy), Alek Borcherding (Travis), Lacy Thompson, Logan Thompson, Damien Phillips (Sarah), Brandon Boland (Kaycie) and Colte Boland (Salena); and his great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Cohen, Parker, Taegyn, Elizabeth, David, Derrick, Myra, Saige, Samantha and Braxton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Basler Funeral Home (685 Center Dr, Ste. Genevieve, MO 63670). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
