He was predeceased by: his son Adam McGraw; his parents, Ronald Powell and Sonja Nash (Jerry); and his sisters, Jeri Powell and Lisa Volner.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Powell of Salem, MO; his children, Sarah McGraw and Nick McGraw (Staci); his siblings, Tammy Kleinheider (Mark) of New Haven, MO and David Powell (Annette) of Salem, MO; his grandchildren, Landon, Shakota, Nicholas Jr., Ciarra, Nathan, Josh, Mercedes, Kirstin, Issac, Kailani and Meliah; and his great grandchildren, Laylah, Keeleigh, Ivy, Maeve, Alice and Alijah. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of James to help with final expenses.
