He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Albert and Iva Electa Freelend; his wives, Norma Freelend (Mounce) and Lilly May "Martin" Freelend; his son Paul Freelend; his son-in-law Rodney Haines; his brothers-in-law, Paul Hiatt and Gary Sellno; and his nephew Richard Scott Woolsey.
He is survived by: his children, Raymond Freelend (Cindy), Judith Haines of Sarcoxie, Vivian Welters (Jerome), Allen Freelend (Ronda) and Vernon Freelend of Joplin; and his daughter-in-law Cheryl Freelend. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren.
